| Trauma
A traumatic incident strikes a person suddenly and affects the victim of the trauma as well as those surrounding the victim. This kind of incident can shatter one's sense of well-being and destroy normal functioning. Reactions to trauma can be emotional or physical or both. The normal human response to times of crisis is to try to avoid the pain but it is critically important to not avoid the reactions to the traumatic event. At the Center for Biblical Counseling, we offer counseling for those who have experienced times of crisis and/or trauma. Some of these incidents may include war trauma, torture, incest, rape, self mutilation, mind control, and spiritual warfare. We also can offer support to the family and friends who are also impacted by the incident. For more information, see our article Immediate Response to Trauma
