![]() M.A., LPC Staff Counselor |
Rick Polachek received a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Colorado Christian University under the direction of clinical psychologists Lawrence J. Crabb, Jr., and Dan Allender. He finished his course work in the Licensed Professional Counselor Program at CCU and completed a counseling internship at the Center for Biblical Counseling Dallas under the supervision of the Director of CBC, Bruce Edstrom, M.A., LPC, LMFT.
Prior to his studies in the Masters program, Rick served as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Serving in conflicts overseas, as well as in peacetime assignments stateside, has enabled him to help men and women struggling with vast levels of stress and relational difficulties by offering guidance and shepherding. Rick has devoted his time to helping individuals, couples, and families work through sexual abuse issues, gender identity issues, marital conflict, parenting problems, eating disorders, anger, depression, and difficulties in adolescence. Having led men's groups for over eight years, Rick is especially able to help others work through an extensive array of male issues. Rick views the counseling process as a setting where a person is invited to examine issues which trouble him or her. As the dynamics underscoring these issues are understood, they can then be explored in light of how they affect significant relationships. Rick, his wife, Sue, and their four children live in the Dallas area.
