I graduated from Austin College in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. My passion for the counseling field began during the last two years of my undergraduate studies where I was able to participate in a Trauma Intervention Program for the local fire department. The focus of the program was to help first responders deal with the psychological aspects of the trauma, as well as to debrief the crew after the call. This program lead me to completing my Master of Behavioral Sciences degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 2007.
During my practicum and internship hours of my Master's program, I was fortunate to work in a variety of environments. I worked at Youth Services of Durant Oklahoma as a community counselor seeing children in the shelter as well as the school setting; spent time observing and seeing clients in a day treatment program at Mental Health Services of Durant, Oklahoma; was trained in and completed numerous psychological as well as neuropsychological assessments; and saw therapy clients in private, school, home, clinic, juvenile detention center, Child Advocacy Center, and nursing home settings. These environments have allowed me to help individuals, couples, families, and groups work through sexual abuse issues, gender identity issues, emotional trauma issues, marital conflict, parenting problems, eating disorders, anger, anxiety, depression, difficulties in adolescence, and career concerns. I believe that the therapy process is unique to each individual, and my goal is to help clients move toward positive change through providing insight, education, and therapeutic relationship. Natalia and her husband Greg have been married 4 years. They live in McKinney with their two dogs Macie and Beemer
