Eating Disorders

Restoration and Hope: Physically and Psychologically

Eating disorders are quickly becoming rampant in our society. While the treatment of them may seem overwhelming, we offer professional help to assist those who are struggling with eating disorders including: anorexia, bulimia, emotional eating/overeating, and obesity.

It is important to recognize that all segments of society are affected: Men and women, young and old, rich and poor, all ethnicities, all socio-economic levels.

The ANAD (Anorexia Nervosa & Dissociated Disorders) Group performed a Ten Year Study and found that 86% of individuals with eating disorders report onset of illness by the age of 20 and 77% report the duration of the disordered eating to last from one to fifteen years.

Some of the Psychological Effects of Eating Disorders Include:

  • Depression
  • Low self-esteem
  • Shame and guilt
  • Impaired family and social relationships
  • Mood swings
  • Perfectionism
  • "All or nothing" thinking
